SMSTS REFRESHER (Virtual)

This course will be delivered as a Virtual Classroom with a ‘live’ trainer, to enable students to complete this class from home. The course will be completed as normal over 2 days. Class times are 9am – 5pm.
To attend the course delegates must have access to a computer or laptop to undertake course related work, registration forms and test. Delegates will need a webcam, or tablet to join the live video class.
All training materials will be provided in digital format as a downloadable version. These are official publications purchased from the citb.
Students will need to present photographic ID at the start of the class.
The CITB SMSTS Refresher is for those students who currently hold an existing SMSTS certificate. The existing certificate must still be in date and valid at the time of taking the class.
This 2 day SMSTS Refresher class provides the necessary updates for students on the legal health & safety responsibilities that affect construction sites today.
The CITB SMSTS certificate is valid for 5 years.

CITB SMSTS Refresher (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)

The SMSTS Refresher Course is a 2-day classroom program tailored for individuals with a valid and current SMSTS Certificate. Its primary aim is to provide an update on current legislation and safety requirements relevant to construction site managers and equivalent personnel.

Program Content:

Focus areas of the Health and Safety Executive
Risk assessment and method statements
Construction Site Health, Safety, and Welfare
Reporting of Injuries, Diseases, and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR)
Behavioral safety
Occupational health
Overview of and changes to current construction legislation

Entry Requirements:

Proficiency in spoken and written English is vital, as the course is exclusively conducted in English. Students are required to possess a valid CITB SMSTS Qualification certificate, which should be presented during the course.

Course Materials:

All essential training materials, including the CITB Construction Site Safety GE700 publication, are supplied, and students retain these resources.

Assessment:

Full attendance, including participation in daily interactive activities, case studies, and a concluding multiple-choice test, is mandatory.

Qualification & Renewal:

Successful candidates earn the CITB Site Safety Plus SMSTS Qualification Certificate, valid for 5 years. Afterward, a 2-day SMSTS Refresher course is needed for a further 5-year qualification extension.
